About international digital identity

Yivi supports passports and ID cards from more than 30 countries for identity verification.

  • Passports: Fully verified and available for all listed countries. These can be used for both age verification and complete identification.
  • ID Cards: Verified and available for all listed EU member states. In theory, the number of supported countries is larger, but we maintain a curated list of ID cards that we have confirmed to work.
  • Driver’s Licenses: Dutch driver’s licenses are currently in the testing phase. We are exploring the possibilities to support driver’s licenses from other countries as well.

Privacy and interoperability

Yivi offers the best of both worlds:

  • Idemix/IRMA protocols provide maximum privacy through zero-knowledge proofs. For example, you can prove that you are over 18 years old without sharing your exact date of birth.
  • OpenID4VP with SD-JWT credentials ensures maximum interoperability with other digital identity systems and complies with the latest international standards (eIDAS 2.0).
