Yivi enables international passport verification for digital identity
We are proud to announce a new step in the development of our open source identity platform: users can now use their international passport for digital identity and online identification. This means that organizations worldwide can verify identities via Yivi – reliable, secure, and user-friendly.
Passport as a trusted foundation
A passport is recognized worldwide as one of the most reliable identity documents. With the new passport verification in Yivi, the authenticity of passport data is cryptographically validated against official government Masterlists. Any attempt at fraud is thus immediately countered. For organizations, this is equivalent to checking a physical passport – but entirely digital.
International applicability
While Yivi was originally mainly used in the Netherlands, with this innovation we are expanding to an international audience. Companies with customers or employees in different countries no longer need to combine multiple solutions. With Yivi, there is now one uniform approach to identity verification, regardless of the country of origin. This lowers barriers to onboarding and speeds up cross-border processes.
Open source: transparency and assurance
The open source nature of Yivi offers organizations full transparency and auditability. Our source code and processes are publicly available and can be reviewed and checked by anyone.
